30/12/2008 15:24 Happy New Year Jean-Paul, We wanted to thank you for the opportunity to stay in your apartment in Riquewihr. What a treat! It was perfect! We felt so at home and my gosh, what a fabulous location. We enjoyed the Christmas celebrations despite the sea of people. But, there were plenty of side streets to explore without the crowds and after everyone left, it was delightful to walk around and feel the mystical life of medieval times. The apartment was wonderful-- so many quality details --cute as could be. How old is this house? And, we have to say that Valerie was so sweet and professional. We hope that your Christmas was great and we wish you a wonderful New Year Eve celebration along with best wishes for the New Year. Cheers, Pamela and David
23/05/2008 07:37 My husband Tony, and I stayed at your beautiful house last June for our honeymoon (Le Colombier). I wanted to let you know that we are in the process of trying to buy our first home here in Monterey, CA. The only way we can afford one is to buy a "fixer" and do a major remodel. I was just on your website trying to get ideas for our kitchen and bathroom! You have done such an amazing job with all three of your places in Riquewihr. (We didn't get to see your two latest, as they were still in the middle of construction.) Anyway, I just thought I would let you know that your homes have been a source of inspiration for our home here! I hope that we will be able to visit France and Riquewihr soon! 17/04/2008 14:45 I can picture the leaves appearing on the grapevines in Riquewihr and it is an image that I find very soothing when life becomes rather hectic. The last time my husband and I were there, we walked up into the surrounding vineyards on a beautiful October day. The sky was very blue, the sun was shining down upon the city and the historic ramparts, there was exciting activity in the vineyards as families harvested the grapes and both John and I felt such a sense of peace. At that moment, it seemed that all should be right with the world. It is an image I have never forgotten...
I continue to enjoy looking at the slide show of The Colombier. Since I was last in touch, we have booked our flights from Boston to Strasbourg. The four of us are all looking forward to this trip and our stay in your wonderful house. Until the next time - Patricia, Rhodes Island - USA |

| We loved the apartment, the town, and the folks we met there. Jean Paul did a fabulous job of remodeling and decorating this place! Very spacious, comfortable, with an understated elegance. We appreciated having Jean Paul's assistant come over to greet us upon arrival, and give us lots of good local information. We had a marvelous time in Riquewihr, and hope to return soon. |

June 15, 2007 We just returned from our fantastic trip to Europe and the highlight was definitely our stay in the charming village of Riquewihr. When we began planning a trip to France with our three children I didn't think it would be possible to find a place for us to stay comfortably. Le Colombier exceeded all of my expectations. It was spacious and beautiful, warm and inviting.
The kitchen and bathrooms had every convenience I have at home. The house was spotless. It was warmly decorated with lovely french antiques. A desk with a laptop computer made it so easy to look up directions, attractions, english to french translations, and keep in thouch with our families back home. We ate breakfast in every morning and I cooked dinner twice. the kitchen was very efficient.
Jean Paul took great care making the best use of all the space he has in this apartment. He, too was a bonus. He was in constant contact with us as we journeyed over from the U.S to make sure he had someone there with the key when we arrived. After giving me brief instructions over the phone, he was so kind to arrange dinner reservations for us at a restaurant in town. It was very appearant that his objective was to make our stay as pleasant as he possibly could. He did accomplish that goal.
I told him when we left that it was a priceless trip filled with precious memories. Jean Paul and the accomodations he provided us in Riquewihr are largely responsible for helping make that happen.

May 20, 2007 This apartment and location are a slice of heaven. Firstly the apartment... Photos do not do this lovely apartment justice. This is a large, quality apartment, beautifully restored using luxurious materials. The owners are a delight to deal with and Jean-Paul was there to meet us. The apartment had everything we needed and more items were being added whilst we were there. The village was also another discovery. It is full of restaurants and cellar doors for tasting the fabulous Alsace wines. There are 2 Michelin one star restaurants in the village and another at Zellenburg (2 km away) as well as several Michelin recommended restaurants. Most of the wineries have cellar doors within the village open for tasting. So this is the perfect foodie-wine lovers paradise...you don't have to drive anywhere; just walk outside your door and stroll to dinner or a wine tasting. A wonderful and relaxing holiday. |

April 4, 2007 We just returned from a wonderful week at Le Colombier. It is everything that is described on the web pages and more. It is spacious, light and airy inside. The house is exquisitely decorated and furnished –it is obvious that much thought, planning and attention to detail went into the project. It has every amenity that one could want, from the state of the art appliances to hair dryers. It is comfortable, with sofas and easy chairs and the “stub” is a delight. I like to cook. We ate lunches out and all suppers in. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a patisserie 1-1/2 minutes walk away and an excellent winery 3 doors away as well as a small grocery in town. The pellet burning wood stove installed the week before our stay was a delight! I might add that there are an abundance of electrical outlets scattered throughout the house. The house is immaculate and the housekeeping staff is efficient and friendly. Jean-Paul is a gracious and warm host, and provided a great tutorial when we arrived. From the first inquiry he was prompt in answering all of our questions. I particularly liked his reservation system, having a “dossier” with a file number with all communication handled online rather than individual emails. No more frantically looking for emails, every message between us was right there in chronological order in the file. We hope to return next year.
